We are pleased to present the latest functions of MACHINES.CLOUD to you today. The latest version 10.15 brings with it numerous new features that make working in the cloud even easier and more efficient. From improved security functions to new automation options, the new features offer a wide range of benefits for anyone working in the cloud. Let's get started right away and discover the exciting new features!

Individual cockpit configuration

Contextual help

With the right authorizations, you can configure your own cockpit applications as required. Clone the standard application and customize functions such as alarms or the data explorer. You can also define which groups or subgroups appear in the Navigator to create a customized view.

Almost every page now contains a short introductory text explaining its purpose. You can access this information via the help icon or a button in the action bar. Clicking on it opens a tab with a brief explanation of the functions and a direct link to the relevant section in the user manual.

New asset selector

Advanced software management

Widgets now support an improved selector that allows you to navigate through all relevant groups and devices. A global search for devices and assets is also possible - ideal for reports or home dashboards. If a group contains many elements, the current level can be filtered specifically.

The "Device Management" software repository now shows the name of the software, the device type for which it is applicable, the software type and an icon indicating whether and how many versions are available. The values in each column except the "Versions" column can be filtered and sorted.

Digital Twin Manager

With the "Digital Twin Manager", you can create and manage assets for your connected devices. These help to structure devices logically and map their actual use. Assets can also be extended with individual properties from the property library.
You can use the property library to define user-defined properties for assets and determine how their data is saved. Each property can be assigned a specific data type, e.g. text, number, date, selection or Boolean.

Asset types serve as templates for assets and define their structure and user-defined properties. In addition, relationships can be defined that are taken into account when creating hierarchies. A created asset type can be used to generate multiple assets.

The Localization component allows you to define translations for your asset types and custom properties. These translations can be provided for all supported languages.
The Asset Navigator is the central tool for creating, displaying and managing asset hierarchies. Here you can use the previously defined asset types and properties to organize your structures clearly.
With the mass import function, all assets in an asset hierarchy can be imported at once. To do this, a template is downloaded and then filled. Admin authorization is required to use this function.

Improved page for all devices

Improved data point selector

The "All devices" page has been revised and is now based on a data grid, similar to the "Subassets" and "Search" pages. This ensures a more uniform display, better adaptation to different screen sizes and improved filter, sorting and pagination functions. It also forms the basis for future optimizations.

The window for selecting data points has been divided into three columns: On the left you select a group, in the middle the associated devices are displayed, and on the right you can see your selection, which can also be removed there. A search function has also been integrated.

Extensible device registration

LWM2M 1.1 support

This new function enables microservice developers to create their own enrollment processes for devices - without having to adapt the UI source code.

A user-defined form with a JSON schema and specific endpoints can be created for this purpose. If the microservice is subscribed to the tenant, the form appears automatically as soon as the user selects the corresponding option in the drop-down menu on the device registration page.

We now support the following LWM2M 1.1 features:

  • LWM2M Send
  • Compound operations (read, write, observe, cancel observation).
  • New LWM2M serialization formats: CBOR, SenML JSON, SenML CBOR
  • New LWM2M data formats: Core Link, unsigned integers

Revised LWM2M device registration

Multiple LNS connections for Sigfox and Actility

The LWM2M agent now offers wizards for the individual and mass registration of LWM2M devices. These simplify the registration process, check the entries and detect common errors before the device is created.
The Sigfox and Actility agents now support the configuration of multiple connections per tenant. A connection can be associated with multiple devices. Each connection can be updated and deleted.
