On February 16, 2022, we were awarded a research project worth over €120,000 by the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy.
The Deputy Bavarian Minister President and Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs, Hubert Aiwanger, personally handed over the grant to our Managing Director Johannes Stephan.
We have been supporting companies with the digitalization and networking of their machinery and vehicle fleets for many years. Companies in the construction industry in particular benefit from retrofittable fleet systems that are installed in vehicles, machines and equipment. These manufacturer-independent systems network the fleet with our in-house tracking platform and thus form the "digital key" to the machines.
Construction companies can access current position data and performance parameters such as operating hours, degree of utilization, fuel consumption and upcoming maintenance dates. Thanks to the localization and automatic alarm message when leaving a geo-zone (a specific geographical area selected by the customer - e.g. the area in which a construction site is located), it has already been possible to return one or two stolen vibratory plates to their owners.
One unsolved problem in the industry at present is the manufacturer-independent remote diagnosis of mixed fleets. As a rule, the machine fleets of construction companies are rather heterogeneous, i.e. there are different manufacturers and different models. The possibilities of carrying out manufacturer-independent diagnostics remotely (remote diagnostics) and avoiding damage and breakdowns directly in future (predictive maintenance) are being examined intensively as part of the research project. The first prototypes are to be tested in the field by the end of the year.
